Where are you based?

I’m a Yorkshire lad, based in South Yorkshire but photograph weddings all over the place. Travel is included for all weddings within Yorkshire, though if I’ve got to cross the border there’s a £150 charge to cover travel and any hotels.

Do you photograph weddings overseas?

Definitely! Just get in touch and let me know what you have planned.

How long do you stay on my wedding day?

For the full day package, I’m with you all day – from when you start getting ready right through to the party. Usually that means around 10pm, but I’ll be there until people start flagging.

Do we need to set aside some time for you on the day?

I’ll need about half an hour to grab a few beautiful portraits of the both of you (and the same again later on, especially if we have a pretty sunset!). If you want an group photos, they usually take about 30 minutes.

We’re a bit camera shy though…

That’s OK, most people are! I’m there to capture you being you – so no posing (well, possibly ‘blue-steel’ if you’ve got that perfected!).

What about unplugged weddings?

I’m pretty neutral on this – it’s great for your guests to take photos, though there are parts of the day when it’s nicer for your guests to put their cameras away and concentrate on what’s going on.

How many photos will I get?

It’s round about 400+, but it really depends on how long I’m with you for and what’s going on.

Do I get hi-resolution files?

Yes. You’ll receive a copy of all the finished photos in JPEG format, so you can get prints made, or cards, albums, etc.  These are for your personal use only, so no selling them or publishing them please!

Can we share the photos on social media?

Please do – it’s great for your family and friends to see your photos! I even provide resized files for you which have a discreet watermark on them, so you don’t have to spend hours uploading.

How do I secure the date?

Get in touch! A £300 booking fee and a signed agreement is needed to book me.

When do we get to see the finished photos?

I aim to send you the online gallery within 6 weeks, but this can take longer during busy times.

Can we have group shots?

Of course, but please keep it to below 8. It would also be really useful if you could set aside someone to help get the right people together.

What happens if we have bad weather?

If any major part of your wedding is outdoors, then  you should have a contingency plan for bad weather (this is the UK after all!). But if you’re willing to brave the rain, we can get some lovely atmospheric rain shots. Or we can do some cool inside shots.

What happens if you can’t make it?

The chances of this happening are incredibly slim, however I am friends with a number of other photographers who I can call on in times of emergency. I would try and rearrange family portrait sessions, but I would discuss anything with you first regardless.

What should we wear for a photoshoot?

Anything which makes you look good and that you feel comfortable in! Logos on clothing can be a little distracting, as can busy patterns. but it really doesn’t matter.

Should we order a meal for you?

Yes please! Weddings are long days and I won’t get chance to leave the venue to eat.

Can we order an album from you?

Definitely. A 15 spread (30 sides) 10 inch square album starts from £400, or you can upgrade to the luxurious Folio album, or up to a 12 inch album, or just add more pages.

Do we need to ask the venue anything?

Only if there’s any restrictions on what I can do. Churches can have different rules on photography depending on the official. Though I’ll always have a chat with person conducting the wedding beforehand to check.

Are you insured?

Yes. A certificate of insurance can be provided if required – the venue sometimes ask for this.
