I think it was about 5 days before when I suddenly changed from excitement about an upcoming wedding to “Eeek! My brother’s getting married!”. Calm planning turned into pressure, but at least I’d be able to spot the father and mother of the groom…

In my head I had a beautiful autumnal day planned – kicking the leaves, walking into the sunset with a fiery sky, and colours all over the place. But the British weather had me making other plans – the Met office had me preparing indoor shots to account for drizzle and the cold. And then on the day something magical happened. We had sunshine! From the moment Vikki walked up the path to the church, right up until we’d fished shooting family at the venue, we had lovely sunshine! (followed by a big thundery storm!)

Vikki grew up overlooking Beckingham Church, watching the brides walk into the church over the summer weekends. And not that many years later, it was her turn. Hemswell Court was a fantastic venue for the couple. It was originally an RAF officers mess, and was converted into a wedding venue when the military moved out a few years ago.  It is now a combination of RAF history and antique elegance.  And they get extra points for serving sausage and mash as the main meal!

Here are a few of my favourites from the day…
